Figs on a Marble Ledge

The light comes from the left and stops before the back edge of the panel. Pell keeps the ground nearly the color of the marble, so the fruit has to carry the picture.

It is a small painting, meant for a wall you pass every morning. The figs were painted in an afternoon; the napkin took longer.
